Ina Callejas – Accordion


Ina Callejas, AccordionIna Callejas was born and raised in Suhl (Germany). She is an internationally recognized accordionist and has appeared as a guest artist at the Lucerne Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, at the Warsaw Autumn, at the Davos Festival "Young Artists in Concert" and the Bludenz New Music Festival as a member of New Music ensembles such as Ensemble Contrechamps and Ensemble Interface. Various concert tours have taken her to many European countries, to Israel/Palestine and to the USA.

Since 2010 Ina Callejas regularly performs at the Zurich Opera House; she has also given concerts with, among others, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the German Philharmonic Orchestra Rhineland-Palatinate, the Bern Symphony Orchestra and the Sinfonietta Schaffhausen. Not only does she enjoy performing recitals with vocalists, she also appears on the concert stage as "Duo Croquembouche" with her husband, saxophonist Jürgen Callejas. Ina Callejas is the executive chairwoman of the non-profit association "HighNoon - Freunde Neue Musik e.V." based in Konstanz.

Ina Callejas earned a Master of Arts degree under Teodoro Anzellotti at the Hochschule der Künste in Bern (Switzerland), graduating with distinction. She previously studied in Trossingen (Germany) under Hugo Noth and Hans Maier as well as in San Sebastián (Spain) under Iñaki Alberdi. She has also gained valuable impetus from working with Stefan Hussong, Janne Rättyä and Geir Draugsvoll.
Ina Callejas was awarded scholarships from the Jürgen Ponto Foundation, the Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg and the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes.
